Prior to rediscovering the precious MiP robot once in the hands of Jason Wexler, Ben was just a normal YouTuber, trying to go about his vlog, education his audience about the different types of river rocks in the temperate forest. Curious and open-minded, Ben quickly discovered the SD card left in MiP's interior installed by Wexler. Ben, after refusing to give the robot up when Jason Dichter asked for it, documented MiP's malfunction through video, gaining world-wide attention and eventually drawing the attention of Chris.

Ben, feeling guilty of his actions, knew he must assist in reacquiring the robot before it is too late, even if it meant going back in time to gain super powers.
